Deters: UC officer 'purposefully killed' DuBose

Scroll to the bottom of this story to vote on whether or not UCPD should be dissolved.
University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing was indicted Wednesday on a murder charge for fatally shooting Samuel DuBose during a traffic stop July 19.
It’s the first time a police officer in the city has been charged with murder for killing someone while on duty.
Video from the officer’s body camera shows a routine traffic stop turning suddenly violent when DuBose leans toward the passenger seat and Tensing fires a single shot into his head. DuBose did not appear to be belligerent or aggressive before the officer fired.
“It’s an absolute tragedy that anyone would behave in this manner,” Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters said of the officer. “It was senseless. It’s just horrible.

“He purposefully killed him.”
Tensing, 25, faces 15 years to life in prison if he’s convicted.
The decision came after 12 Hamilton County citizens reviewed evidence all day Monday as part of a grand jury investigation into the incident, which has put the city on edge and rekindled worries about the sometimes strained relationship between police and African-Americans in Cincinnati.
UC’s campus shut down and classes were canceled Wednesday in anticipation of the announcement. Ohio Highway Patrol troopers were seen arriving on campus by late morning.

Florida State dismisses De'Andre Johnson after bar punch, arrest

Do you know anyone that needs to raise funds for a situation?   Click Here
The video shows Johnson and a woman in a shoving match at a bar which escalates when the woman throws a punch at Johnson, who then strikes the woman in the face and exits the video frame.
The woman, a Florida State student, suffered several injuries to her face, according to court records. State attorney Willie Meggs will prosecute the case and decided to charge Johnson after reviewing video of the incident that was captured by security cameras inside the bar.
Johnson, a true freshman, was a four-star recruit who enrolled early at Florida State in January. He was expected to compete for the backup quarterback position.
Johnson's attorney, Jose Baez, said his client is "extremely embarrassed" and is participating in community service and faith-based programs focused on battered women, among others. A statement issued Monday by Baez did not address the alleged victim specifically.
"While it is clear from the video that De'Andre Johnson was not the initial aggressor, his family wants to take the lead in helping him learn and grow from this experience," Baez said in an emailed statement. "He is currently participating in community service, and faith-based programs focused on battered women, substance abuse, and the empowerment of children. De'Andre is extremely embarrassed by this situation and would like to express his heartfelt apologies to everyone, including those who were directly affected, Coach Fisher and his team mates, the entire Florida State University community, as well as his family and friends."
Johnson pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge on July 2. A court date is set for later this month.

Sean Paul death hoax spreads on Facebook
Rumors of the singer’s alleged demise gained traction on Friday after a ‘R.I.P. Sean Paul’ Facebook page attracted nearly one million of ‘likes’. Those who read the ‘About’ page were given a believable account of the Jamaican singer’s passing:
At about 11 a.m. ET on Friday (June 19, 2015), our beloved singer Sean Paul passed away. Sean Paul was born on January 8, 1973 in Kingston. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.
Hundreds of fans immediately started writing their messages of condolence on the Facebook page, expressing their sadness that the talented 42-year-old singer was dead. And as usual, Twittersphere was frenzied over the death hoax.
Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major Jamaican network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of a singer of Sean Paul's stature would be major news across networks.
recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (81%) of respondents think those Sean Paul death rumors are not funny anymore.
Sean Paul Death Hoax Dismissed Since Singer Is ‘Alive And Well’
On Saturday (June 20) the singer's reps officially confirmed that Sean Paul is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.
Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved singer. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.

Pet cruelty charity rings owner to say they've found her cat that was missing for 18 years - and then they put it to sleep

Do you know anyone that needs to raise funds to start a dream, idea, project or for any situation? No project deadlines, no fees and you get 100% of all donations. Click Here

Laura Rennie's tabby cat Toby (pictured together in 1997) went missing when she was just 21-years-old
A cat which went missing for 18 years was put down by a pet cruelty charity before it could be reunited with its owner because the vet 'refused to wait 20 minutes' to put it down.
Laura Rennie, 39, could barely believe it when an animal welfare officer turned up at her door to tell her the cat she lost when she was 21-years-old had been found - just 15 minutes from her home in Glasgow.
However, her joy turned to despair when a vet told her that tabby cat Toby would have to be put down, after being injured.
Ms Rennie, who has worked with animals for 16 years, was distraught when the vet told her she couldn't wait 20 minutes for her to get to the rescue centre before putting the cat to sleep.
The animal handling business owner had adopted Toby when it was just four-weeks-old after it had been abandoned, but the kitten went missing nearly a year later.
After three months of putting up posters near her house in the east end of Glasgow, Ms Rennie gave up her search for the kitten.
She said: 'I've felt every emotion you can imagine in the space of 32 hours.
'I was 20-years-old when I rescued her. She was an outdoor cat and when she was one-year-old she just never came back.
'I felt complete shock and stunned the cat had been alive.
'Then we were trying to figure out how we could integrate her into the house as my mum has a cat. I got out the cat bed.
'But then I realised she was going to get put down and I was not going to get to see her.
'It turned out quite nasty.'
The Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) managed to contact Ms Rennie immediately after the cat was found thanks to the fact it had a microchip.
Ms Rennie said: 'Unfortunately she had been hit by a car. A chap had found her in his garden and phoned the SSPCA.'

Whitney Houston was a lesbian? According to sources

Houston always adamantly denied she was a lesbian, but husband Bobby even expressed his own doubts in his memoir.
'The media was accusing her of having a bisexual relationship with her assistant,' he wrote. 'In Whitney's situation, the only solution was to get married and have kids.'
Crawford, who is openly gay, resigned from the superstar's production company in 2000.
Whitney and Bobby eventually split after 15 years of marriage in April 2007 and as the singer attempted to relaunch her musical career, her daughter continued to spiral out of control.
'A 17-year-old Bobbi Kristina was left to her own devices in Atlanta, where she had taken up with a hard-partying crowd, including the boy who had moved into her house three years earlier, Nick Gordon,' writes Halperin.
Not long after photos were made public of Bobbi Kristina snorting coke at two separate parties - her mother's response was to cancel her daughter's 18th birthday extravaganza and packed her off again to rehab.

Whitney and Robyn Crawford are seen together in this image
Whitney and Robyn Crawford, right. The pair were extremely close prior to Whitney's marriage to Bobby Brown although the singer has always adamantly denied that she was a lesbian
Whitney died on February 11, 2012. The 48-year-old superstar accidentally drowned in a bathtub in the Beverly Hills Hotel, with the 'effects' of heart disease and cocaine cited as contributing factors.
With her mother gone, Bobbi Kristina became more and more dependant on Gordon and the pair allegedly immersed themselves in the drug scene in Atlanta where they lived.
'The crowd she hung out with was out of control,' a friend of Bobbi Kristina's told Halperin. 'The past couple of years she hung with a bunch of crazies, they were wild and reckless.'
Halperin, whose previous works include Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson and Who Killed Kurt Cobain? also speculates in his book about the final hours leading up to Bobbi's overdose earlier this year.
On January 31, Bobbi Kristina - only 22 - was discovered facedown in a tub of cold water just days before the third anniversary of her mother's very similar death. Gordon claims that he administered CPR.
There has been much specualtion that Bobbi Kristina had attempted suicide, but Halperin believes that she could have been subjected to what drug users call 'the plunge.'
The practice involves plunging an overdose victim into cold water while administering slaps to try and revive them.
'She probably took the plunge,' one local drug addict told him.

Secrets From the 'Jurassic World' Set: the Hungry, Hungry Mosasaurus, the Gyrospheres, and More (Spoilers!)

Secrets From the 'Jurassic World' Set: the Hungry, Hungry Mosasaurus, the Gyrospheres, and More (Spoilers!)
The Mosasaurus goes under in ‘Jurassic World’ (Universal)       By: smallbizprotection

Like the tagline says, Jurassic World is now open, which means that moviegoers can experience the many attractions of the dino-centric theme park for themselves. But last summer, Yahoo Movies had the opportunity to visit the set of the fourth installment in the Jurassicfranchise and learn some of its secrets. A year later, now that the park (and the film) is officially complete, we can reveal them to you…but only if you can present your admission ticket. (Consider that your warning: Spoilers to follow, so stop now if you haven’t seen the movie.)
Steven Spielberg suggested the Mosasaurus’ grand finaleThe Jurassic Park director didn't visit Jurassic World set while the film was in production. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t earn his “Executive Producer” credit. According to World director Colin Trevorrow, Spielberg made a number of suggestions. For example, take the sequence that introduces Jurassic World’s resident aquatic attraction, the Mosasaurus. We first glimpse the creature during its feeding time, as it leaps into the air to nab its prey — a shark, naturally. (How else would you honor the director of Jaws?) Trevorrow’s idea for the sequence ended with the Mosasaurus getting its snack and dousing park goers with water in the process. But Spielberg encouraged him to go a step further. “He said, ‘No, what would be really cool is, after it eats the shark, the bleachers sink down so the crowd can watch her finish it off underwater and you can see all the blood!’ And I was like, ‘Jesus! Okay, that sounds great!'”

They really built those GyrospheresThough digital magic may have been used to make the dinosaurs run, the Gyrosphere that brothers Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray (Ty Simpkins) take off-road through the park is a real contraption. During the Hawaii section of the shoot, the ball was loaded onto a track and rolled around on ball bearings, under the watchful eye of a crew member armed with a remote control. “My son got to ride in it,” Trevorrow said. “He was able to ride it forward and in reverse. If only I had had that when I was a child!” We didn’t get a chance to take it for a test run ourselves, but we were shown the full-size Gyrosphere at rest on a soundstage. And producer Frank Marshall teased that the general public might get their very own Gyrosphere experience at some point; according to him, there have been discussions about turning it into an actual attraction at the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando. We call dibs on the first ride!
